✱ THE PROBLEM
A cardiology clinic runs on several systems: imaging devices, a PACS for the images, an EMR for the patient record, and the reports that tie them together. The original Influx product connected them, but no longer matched the company’s product vision, and clinic staff still did too many steps by hand.
We started with a full business and workflow review alongside Influx’s stakeholders, mapping how studies actually moved through a clinic and where the existing software got in the way.
✱ WHAT WE BUILT
We re-developed the core product, and we continue to extend it:
- A web application and API that follow each study through the clinic, from the worklist to the signed report.
- An on-site DICOM edge service that receives studies from imaging devices, forwards them to one or two PACS, and answers modality worklist queries.
- HL7 messaging and integration with the Oscar EMR and Philips Xcelera PACS.
- An OCR service that reads incoming documents, and a browser extension that brings Influx into the EMR.
- Scheduled background jobs that apply each clinic’s business rules.
✱ RESULT
The new version is deployed at a number of client sites, and the feedback from clinic staff has been very positive.
